This program provides adult women who are pregnant or have a child one year or younger with a comprehensive day treatment program for recovery.

Women Served

Healthy Beginnings serves pregnant or postpartum women age 18 and older who are Wisconsin residents. Self-referrals are welcome. ARC also accepts referrals from social services agencies and other agencies. For an assessment, please call (608) 283-6426.

Cost

Free to women without insurance or coverage for this service. Funded by a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, as well as Dane County and United Way. Some insurance or self-pay accepted.

Background

Healthy Beginnings began as a Federal demonstration project in 1994. The goal was to implement an ideal treatment model for the recovery of pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorders.

Licensure

Healthy Beginnings is certified by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services as a day treatment program for substance use disorders and as a mental health outpatient clinic for treatment of co-occurring disorders.
